BAY INKS SSR-1 PROJECT
At their December 3rd meeting, The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) Board of Trustees voted to award Bay Mechanical and Electrical Corp. a $ 17,000,000 contract to replace the unit substations at the District's Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant (Contract SSR-1). This project is part of the district's Strategic Capital plan. Since its creation in 1972, NEORSD has invested over $2 billion in capital projects to improve water quality in Greater Cleveland. This project includes replacing existing electrical substations and building new buildings to house new and existing substations. This project is scheduled for completion mid 2012.
Bay has successfully completed a number of major projects for NEORSD in the last 10 years including the Plant Automation Project PA-3 which won the 2007 Award OF Excellence.
"We are very pleased that the Sewer District has the confidence in BMEC to award us such a complex project. We have completed a number of major projects at the district and are looking forward to serving them again," stated Bay president Terry Burns.

BAY CAPTURES SIXTH DIAMOND SAFETY AWARD
At the annual Associated Builders and Contractors awards celebration held
on October 15, 2009 at Sammy's Metropolitan Ballroom, Bay Mechanical &
Electrical was once again awarded the coveted "Diamond Safety Award."
This is an unprecedented sixth time for a contractor to win this prestigious
award. The award is presented to the contractor that best exemplifies a commitment
to providing a safe work environment for its employees and customers.
To win this award the contractor must submit to a lengthy application
and reporting process. The award is given to one general contractor and one
specialty contractor. "Winning this award for the sixth time is a tribute to all
the employees at Bay Mechanical & Electrical.
At Bay, safety is an integral part of our overall success. We take great pride
in this award and will continue to make safety our number one priority,"
stated Heather Aschemeier Director of Human Resources at Bay upon receiving
this award.
PHYSICIAN'S CHOICE HOSPITAL
NETS BAY TWO AWARDS
Bay became the proud recipient of two
awards for our performance on the Physicians
Choice Hospital project in Fremont,
Ohio. Bay performed the design
build services for the HVAC, electrical,
plumbing and fire protection on the project.
The project captured the "Award of
Excellence" for the electrical on the project and the "Award of Merit" for
the mechanical. Bay was contracted by Janotta & Herner of Monroeville,
Ohio to work closely with them and the Doctors at PCH to design and build
this unique state-of-the art facility. Janotta and Herner also won the "Award
of Excellence" for the general contracting category. The awards were presented
at the 2009 Associated Builders and Contractors Construction and
Safety Celebration held at Sammy's Metropolitan Ballroom on October 15,
2009 .
Bay Awarded Contract For Substation Rehabilitation
On August 28, 2009 The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District awarded Bay
a contract for the rehabilitation of a number of substations at their Easterly
Waste Water Treatment Plant. This contract tabbed "ESR-1" is part of the districts
program to update and rehabilitate their existing power distribution systems.
Reliable power is critical to the function of an operating treatment plant.
The districts on going program will be replacing substations and distribution
equipment that has reached its design life expectancy. This $1,630,000 project
is on track to be completed in August, 2010.
Bay Lands Second HVAC Improvement Project at Ohio Veterans Home
Long-time customer Ohio Veterans Home (OVH) in Sandusky, Ohio has
awarded Bay Mechanical and Electrical a contract to upgrade the cooling system
for the Veterans Hall building at the OVH facility. This project includes
new piping, equipment, and control upgrades for the cooling system in Veterans
Hall.
Bay just completed a similar project at OVH , The HVAC Mechanical Systems
Upgrade Project in which we installed new steam and condensate distribution
piping and HVAC equipment and controls for the heating systems in various
buildings throughout the OVH facility.
Ohio Veterans Home is a beautiful facility with a dedicated staff that offers a
excellent quality of life to our veterans regardless of the level of care required.
